The Te Unga Mai Festival takes place in Gisborne, October 8 and 9. It celebrates Maori navigational traditions and the arrival of all races in Aotearoa. Events include a church service, a craft and market day with cultural entertainment, a free historical tour around important locations and a lecture series.
