Labour leader Phil Goff denies his entire Maori caucus wants him gone.
The suggestion has been made by retiring MP Mita Ririnui, who has expressed preference for a Maori leader, in particular controversial MP Shane Jones.
Mr Goff said it was not true that all his Maori MPs wanted to see the back of him.
"Mita's saying that he'd like to see a Maori leader for the future, that's his viewpoint, Mita's retiring and I wish him well."
