KEY POINTS:
Trees were felled across a disputed road yesterday on the Mahia Peninsula in northern Hawkes Bay.
The two trees were blocking a portion of Ormond Rd which was built over a cemetery reserve on Maori land, Senior Sergeant Tony Bates of Wairoa said.
No arrests were made and Mahia beach residents were able to use an alternative road.
