KEY POINTS:
The helipad of the ASB Tower in Auckland became an outdoor stage yesterday as four top secondary school cultural groups gave rousing performances on top of the inner city building.
The groups were there to launch the first ASB Polyfest Showcase event, which will be held at the Pacific Events Centre in Manukau on March 29.
Members of Auckland Girls' Grammar's Maori group, Tangaroa College's Niue group, Avondale College's Samoan group, and Wesley College's Tongan group all took part in the launch.
The ASB Polyfest Showcase will feature the best five groups from the ASB Polyfest - the world's largest secondary schools cultural festival, which will be held between March 12 and 15.
The ASB Polyfest is being hosted by Wesley College, and will be held at the Manukau Velodrome.
The ASB Polyfest has been running for 32 years and this year will involve 66 schools, 200 cultural groups and 9000 students performing traditional dances.
