The Auckland Council has accepted a damning report that found under spending on Maori outcomes.
Auckland Mayor has welcomed the report by KPMG prepared for the Independent Maori Statutory Board and promised to do better in next year's 10-year budget review.
The report found the council had spent a quarter of its budget on Maori outcomes in the 2012-2013 year and incorrectly included storm water spending in the current financial year.
Maori Statutory Board chairman David Taipari said the reality was the board was banging its head against a brick wall.
"It's time to change and this is us wanting you to change."
