Activists face charges again

Two Maori activists alleged to have demanded rent from Gisborne moteliers in June will appear in the Gisborne District Court for a depositions hearing on February 8.

Sue Nikora, 69, and Elijah Matenga, 32, are jointly charged with demanding money with menaces.

JPs had previously ruled there was insufficient evidence to go to trial but police relaid the charges.
