Waiopehu College 1st XV rugby team has booked its spot in this Saturday's final after beating Wanganui High School side at the weekend.
After the Under 16s curtain raiser, in which they booked a semi final spot themselves after a brilliant win, it was the 1st XV's turn.
Promising player Henry Fonoti scored first to give Waiopehu a 5-0 lead. Wanganui scored a converted try next, before Kagyn Tunoa kicked a penalty to give the home side an 8-7 lead.
Waiopehu winger Taeler Jennings, in just his second year of rugby, showed strength to score next for Waiopehu.
Fonoti grabbed another try after halftime and Tunoa producing a superb touch line conversion, while James Betty got on the score-sheet with five minutes to go cutting through the midfield in a good run.
