Cast members from Levin Performing Arts Society's show Disenchanted.
Horowhenua is becoming recognised as a district packed with theatrical talent, and the upcoming 2019 Artistic Awards for Levin Performing Arts Society LPAS) will only add to the area's thespian reputation.
LPAS have staged three major productions over the past year, with three adjudicators in attendance at each, said spokeswoman Lorraine Lepper.
Nominations have been made for a range of award categories, and final decisions made by the judges, with the winners to be announced at the special event on Saturday at the society's headquarters in Levin.
Mrs Lepper said Directors Choice awards will be presented for each show, and a society award will recognise service given to the group over the year.
They acknowledge the cast member who has, in the director's eyes, given that little bit extra and not necessarily in their performance," she said.
"A society award decided by the LPAS committee [will be] presented to a special person who has helped donated time and service to the society for the year. Always a difficult choice with so many people giving so willingly of their time."
