The grand opening of a new shop in Levin was so well attended that the sausage sizzle ran out of bangers.
The original order of 600 sausages proved to be on the light side as twice cooks sent runners to a nearby supermarket for bread, onions and more sausages to keep customers fed.
The complimentary sausages were part of the official opening of a new store. Formerly known as K.C. Motors Ltd, it was now the City Honda Horowhenua and Stihl Shop Levin, a dealership for those brands.
A management team of Scott Newton, Bevan Bishop and Ingrid de Graaf cut the ribbon to mark the official opening.
Although new management took over in September last year, the store was now completely set-up with all new stock lines in store.
Hundreds of people were in store as the promotion gave away goods in competitions, including new chainsaws.
