Hannah's experience on the campaign trail has been a learning curve and not quite what she had expected.
Receiving some abusive notes calling her fat and illiterate, Hannah persevered and came through it all.
"It was hard receiving such offensive messages and the hardest part was having to put on a brave face and have thick skin," she said.
"Through this process I have learnt that I'm a lot tougher than I thought.
"The campaign trail has made me more aware of my abilities and has taught me a lot about myself. Even if people doubt me, [as long as] I'm sure of myself and fight for truth then I know that I've done the right thing," she said.
Hannah plans to attend Foxton Community Board meetings and council meetings alongside her active role as a Friend of Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom (TANS).
"As friends of TANS my mother and I are putting together a community recipe book fundraiser for the purchase of items such as iPads and bean bags.
"Upgrades like Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom are great for installing pride in Foxton's youth. I want to continue to help bridge the gap of communication between our youth and local government by promoting myself as a voice through social media."
Hannah hopes she has inspired more young people to believe they can make a difference.
"We need young people in Foxton to step into leadership roles so together we can make Foxton a better place to live for the coming generations.
"One of my plans is to create a youth-centred programme where youth 'movers and shakers' can get together and support each other for the progress of our community.
"Just because I didn't get elected, it won't stop me from moving forward towards my goals," she said.
