Foxton Little Theatre's mid-year production tells the tale of a 'heartland' family in the New Zealand drama Home Land.
The play, penned by renowned playwright Gary Henderson, tells the story of a family faced with the difficult decision of moving their widowed 80-year-old father into care from the farm on which he has spent his entire working life.
Spokesperson Lisa Collinson said the memories of years gone by, family tensions and recriminations all surface in the play.
"[It is] a heartwarming tale which will be familiar to most audiences," she said.
The production is a solo directorial debut for Ryan Burnell and has resulted in the play being brought to life with vision and passion for the theatre, Collinson said.
