Celebrating Horowhenua: NZME launches second edition of magazine

Celebrating Horowhenua 2, launched in Levin on April 11, 2019.

The second edition of a special publication to highlight the best of the district had a successful launch on Thursday.

NZME's Celebrating Horowhenua is a six-monthly magazine designed to tell some of the stories of Horowhenua and its inhabitants, showcasing the district.

The edition features articles about culture, history, art, sport and nature, all of which are well represented in the district.

Stories about Horowhenua's top 10 experiences and a feature about why people are choosing to move to Levin looking for the good life, as well as the history of Foxton's audio visual museum, Ōpiki Bridge and the ground breaking Rixen strike are just some of the magazine's reads.

Nature lovers will enjoy the coverage of Manawatū Estuary and the beautiful photography accompanying it.

Celebrating Horowhenua also includes an events page to keep people up to date with all the up-coming major happenings and events in the district.

The magazine has been supported by a host of local companies and people who know the importance of doing business locally. Supporting them helps support the district's economy by investing into it, so locals and visitors are encouraged to use the edition as a resource when looking for goods, services and ideas.

Celebrating Horowhenua has been created by the team at the Horowhenua Chronicle.

A launch event was held on Thursday at Te Takere and copies of the magazine are available free throughout the district or at the Chronicle office.
