A pop-up dance duo is hoping their favourite pastime of freestyle movement to a smorgasbord of music will catch on in Levin.
Jennie Ferguson and Andy Van der Heyden were mesmerising as they turned a piece of grass on the town's Village Green into a space where they could dance in a rollicking rhythmic romp.
The pair were fresh from the WOMAD festival in New Plymouth, a celebration of culture and music, and wanted to continue the vibe they encountered there with a random dance in the middle of town.
Ferguson said she enjoyed expressing herself through dancing - and hoped others would too, as the only by-product was an increased feeling of well-being. They encouraged anyone to join in.
"We can all live inside a box and this is a chance to get out and express yourself through movement. It's okay to be yourself and to move how you want to move," she said.
