KEY POINTS:
What are you doing personally to make a difference?
I use those squiggly long-lasting lightbulbs, recycle, drive a hybrid, carpool, created a show on Alt TV called Green Core which focuses on the environment (Wednesdays at 8pm on Channel 65 or online at www.alttv.co.nz) and do what I can to balance the anti-climate change line held by some talkback hosts on Newstalk ZB with my show Almost Monday 9pm on Sundays.
What more could you do?
Let's be honest, we could all do a lot more but I do what I can and each week try to do a little more. Pulling the weeds out of my vege garden and remembering to take those re-useable shopping bags with me to the supermarket would be a good start.
What is your biggest environmental sin?
Probably Alt TV - we use way too much paper and are not always the best at recycling. We are looking at getting our environmental show Green Core to turn that around and attempt to make us the first carbon neutral broadcaster in the country.
Global warming - man or nature?
I hate that we are still asking that question. Yes, nature continues to play its part but you'd have to be mental to think we were not contributing to it and therefore we all need to work to minimise this.
