KEY POINTS:
* Buy products with less packaging or recyclable packaging.
* Take control from the start - Reduce, Re-use, Recycle. Reduce the amount of packaging you buy, re-use what you've already got, recycle what you can.
* Choose products that display the Environmental Choice "tick".
* Use re-usable containers for food storage and children's lunch boxes.
* Donate unwanted clothes, furniture and paint.
* Put a "no junk mail please" sticker on your letter box. This will reduce the demand for paper.
* Recycle old computers, TVs and cellphones (electronic waste). Old cellphones can be taken back to Telecom or Vodafone stores for re-use or recycling.
* Buy in bulk, buy only what you need and cook at home.
* Use both sides of paper when printing. This will save energy, water and trees.
* Compost your food scraps.
* Use re-usable cloth bags for your shopping. This reduces the number of plastic bags that you will need while shopping.
