DoC aims to rid Kermadec island of rats

The Department of Conservation has started a major operation to rid one of the remote Kermadec islands of rats.

DoC said eradicating rats from Macauley Island, 120km southwest of Raoul Island, would allow threatened seabirds in New Zealand's most isolated nature reserve to recover.
