The Last of Us Part II (Playstation 4)
The sequel to this generation's greatest adventure game is finally, finally, finally, nearly here. Almost. There's still no release date. Eek. But, for now, we have the first gameplay footage, which looks suitably Last of Us. A dance! A kiss! A hanging! A shiv! Some sneaking around! A fight! Ellie! I can't wait!
I loved the original Dying Light so much. The desolate cities. The parkour. The night time zombie thrills. All that grunting. But the sequel looks much more intense than I'd had any hope of expecting. The trailer is all about choices, and they seem to have been inspired by David Cage's style of butterfly effect story-telling. As long as there's still parkour zombie mayhem, I'm all in.
Death Stranding (Playstation 4)
Babies, mountains, trunks, waterfalls, gruesome infections, invisible beasts, the gnarly dude from the Walking Dead, and more babies. We're still no closer to working out what's going on in Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, but the constant WTF? moments in the new trailer sure make us want to find out. As Gamespot said: "Some things are just not meant to be understood."
Look at the work that's gone into this trailer - it feels so deep, with so many characters, and so many layers, it's almost like the work of a Hollywood blockbuster machine. The trailer's real, so is the hype: this has been talked about ever since the cult original came out in 2003. The sequel can only be one thing: epic. Let's hope it lives up to the hype.
Starfield (Playstation 4, Xbox One)
Amidst a pretty impressive Bethesda presentation that included new Rage, Doom and Fallout sequels came this - the studio's first original title in 25 years. What is it? What will it become? Who knows, but check out this teaser and tell me you don't want to find out.
