An elderly woman was taken to hospital after she was hit by a car when a Zombie Walk event during California's Comic-Con weekend ended in chaos.
The annual parade, featuring fans dressed up as the undead, took place not far from the San Diego Convention Centre, where a deaf driver, who was travelling with his two children, who were also hard of hearing, was stopped to let the march pass by.
The kids became scared, prompting the dad to try and move out of the area.
However, according to authorities, a number of Zombie Walk participants grew angry at the man for attempting to drive through the crowd and "surrounded and began punching" the car.
"Several of them climbed onto the car and beat on the car. The car windshield was shattered by the crowd," a spokesperson from the San Diego Police Department said.
