Singer Zayn Malik has been forced to cancel another solo show.
Former One Direction singer Zayn Malik has cancelled a major solo show in Dubai due to crippling anxiety.
The 23-year-old was set to perform on October 7, but concert organisers 117 Live said in a statement on their website that it had been cancelled and that ticket holders would be refunded.
"I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances, I feel I am making progress," Malik told fans in a message posted on the website.
"But I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October ... I am truly sorry to disappoint you."
It is not the first time Malik has pulled out of a gig because of anxiety. In June, he cancelled his Capital FM Summertime Ball performance in London at the last minute.
In a lengthy statement posted on Twitter, he wrote: "Unfortunately my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me.
"With the magnitude of the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career. I cannot apologise enough but I want to be honest with everyone who has patiently waited to see me, I promise I will do my best to make this up to everybody I've let down today."
Malik is currently dating model Gigi Hadid. She reportedly moved into his LA mansion last month.
"Zayn and Gigi have moved in together in LA and he's busy furnishing and buying paintings to change it up and make it more of a couple's pad," and insider said.
At the time, the singer revealed he preferred to hang out at home with Hadid than go out partying.
"Zayn prefers a cosy night with Gigi than showbiz parties so it's important she feels comfortable," the insider said.
"He appreciates her so much more after her support when he had to pull out of the Capital FM Summertime Ball with anxiety. Zayn sees how much Gigi is there for him. They're mutually passionately in love."
Malik left the hugely successful boy band One Direction in March 2015 after five years, saying he wanted to lead a normal life.
A few months later, the remaining four members of the group, which came to prominence on the British talent show The X Factor, said they would be taking a break.
