Last night's show, the first to feature new mentor-judges Shelton Woolright and Australian import Natalie Bassingthwaighte, had 314,870 viewers, according to Nielsen.
Last Sunday's show, which included the bullying incident involving contestant Joe Irvine attracted a viewership of 255,900.
The following night's Monday show, after the backlash against the judges which led to the sackings, increased to 438,320.
Last night's instalment, while down from last Monday's numbers, still dominated the Sunday mid-evening time slot among free-to-air channels
Some 272,030 viewers tuned into One's home renovation show Our First Home - down from 347,650 the previous Sunday - while TV2 and Prime offerings trailed far behind.
