A woman guest was denied entry to a party hosted by P. Diddy at his East Hampton mansion for wearing an off-white dress.
Billy Joel's wife Katie Lee, was stopped at door of the rapper's White party and offered the option of going home to change, US Weekly reported.
The former Top Chef host declined and left the party immediately.
The glitzy event attracted a number of stars, including Diddy's ex Kim Porter, Mariah Carey, Lil' Kim, Brooke Shields, Tommy Lee, fashion designer Donna Karan and Russell Simmons, the co-founder of Def Jam Records, who all adhered to the strict all-white dress code.
Diddy wore white sneakers with silver detailing, white shirt and pants and a gold medallion for the event.
Guests were treated to the sight of painted geishas walking around the grounds, Polynesian dancers, a jazz band and circus performers, who entertained with a spinning rings show.
Diddy's bash was his ninth annual White Party, and he had hoped to make it the most impressive yet.
"This party is up there with the top three that I've thrown," Combs told Newsday. "It's a party that has legendary status. It's hard to throw a party that lives up to its legend."
However, the 37-year-old rap mogul was left disappointed last month when East Hampton Town Council denied him a permit to throw a spectacular all-white fireworks display.
Diddy - real name Sean Combs - was told his planned fireworks extravaganza may be mistaken for real lights, causing boats to run aground on the coast.
