• Olympian, 65, smashed into victim, who was pushed into oncoming traffic driving down Pacific Coast Highway • Witnesses said the woman died at the scene in Malibu, California, while seven other people were left injured • Woman killed in the crash has not yet been formally identified but has been named as 69-year-old Kim Howe, a widow that is reportedly neighbors with Kourtney, Khloe and Robert Kardashian in Calabasas, California • Jenner was unharmed in the crash and passed sobriety test at scene • Officials are now examining phone records of all four drivers to help determine circumstances surrounding crash.
Bruce Jenner was spotted taking a roadside sobriety test just moments after he was involved in a four-car horror crash which left one person dead and seven others injured.
Jenner, 65, smashed his Cadillac Escalade into the back of the victim's white Lexus, which was then pushed into the path of a Hummer, leaving the vehicle a crumpled wreck and the sole occupant dead.
The Olympic gold medalist and Kardashian family patriarch, who escaped the crash unscathed, took a roadside sobriety test in front of officers in the wake of the horrific collision, which he passed, while his son Brody rushed to comfort him at the scene.
The victim, although not yet formally identified by police, has been named locally as 69-year-old Kim Howe, who is believed to be a neighbor of the Kardashians.
It is believed Ms Howe, a widow, lives in the same Calabasas hideaway as Kourtney, Robert and Khloe Kardashian, which is guarded by security at the road entrance.
Five children - and two adults - were also hospitalized in the fatal smash which occurred just after midday on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, Los Angeles.
Investigators are now trying to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the crash and plan to look at the cellphone records of all four drivers and check for any video evidence, Sheriff Commander Michael Parker said.
But there is no evidence he was being chased by photographers, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lt. John Lecrivain.
As of right now, there is no indication that Bruce Jenner was being chased by paparazzi at the time of the crash.
He told CNN: 'As of right now, there is no indication that Bruce Jenner was being chased by paparazzi at the time of the crash.
"There was a possibility that paparazzi was following him at the time of the crash, but that is a very regular occurrence, and (there is) no indication at this time it was a contributing factor of the crash."
Their investigations will determine if Jenner, or any of the other three drivers involved in the collision, were texting or on their mobile phones at the time of the collision.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Department will get a search warrant for both Jenner's phone records and the cellphone itself,TMZ reported today. It is illegal to text while driving in California.
Photographs emerged today showing the moment the victim's car was rear-ended by Jenner's black Cadillac Escalade, which was towing a dune buggy at the time of the crash.
In the pictures, Jenner, who is dressed in a blue jumper with dark sunglasses on, appears to have his left arm raised while behind the wheel.
Jenner's publicist confirmed that he hadn't been hurt in the crash and he was pictured at the scene sitting in his vehicle and walking around on the road.
He was later pictured being driven from the scene by sheriff's deputies.
According to witnesses, who described the pile-up to TMZ, he smashed into the back of the Lexus around midday, pushing the vehicle into oncoming traffic.
Sources told the celebrity news site that the Lexus driver was slowing down when she was hit - and that Jenner was not speeding.
It was reportedly struck by a Hummer, causing the fatal smash. Police said four cars were involved in the crash, which injured five minors.
LA County Sheriff's department officials confirmed that the crash took place at 12:12pm near the exit to the Corral Canyon park.
They added that the three surviving drivers, which includes Jenner, are co-operating with them.
Jenner family sources told TMZ that Bruce was being chased by five paparazzi at the time of the crash. However, law officials speaking to the LA Times said that photographers were there but did not cause the crash.
Police closed the PCH in both directions after the crash but just six hours later a driver caused a collision at the very same spot.
According to KTLA, the driver crashed through police barricades after hurtling passed a patrol car with flashing red lights and slammed into the two wrecked cars which were being examined for evidence at around 6.30pm.
Thankfully there were no reports of any injuries and the driver was handcuffed and taken away.
Today it emerged that Ms Howe - who is believed to be the victim of the first crash - lives in the same gated community as some members of the Kardashian family.
Jenner's step-daughter Khloe bought her sprawling mansion on Prado Del Grandioso, in Calabasas, from pop singer Justin Bieber in March 2014.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shares the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom 9,214 square foot property with her brother Rob, who has his own private wing away from the main house.
Ms Howe, whose Calabasas house on Prado De La Mariposa is valued at $4,800,000, owns a number of properties including one in Malibu that faces onto the Pacific Ocean, though neighbours say the place has been left abandoned for three years because of a mold problem.
It is more than likely their paths would have crossed in the private estate where Khloe's sister Kourtney also resides with her partner Scott Disick and their three children Mason, Penelope and Reign.
It's currently unknown what Ms Howe was doing in Malibu on Saturday when the tragic crash happened.
Traffic investigators are now assessing the scene, and coroners in Los Angeles county will provide an official cause of death, police said.
An eyewitness, Nando Esquivias, tweeted a picture of the scene of the accident with the caption: 'Bruce Jenner in bad accident on PCH in Malibu. He's aight, but others involved not so much.'
Bruce has been living in a Malibu beach house since separating from Kris Jenner. Kris is the mother to Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob Kardashian, as well as Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
Two of Jenner's children, Brody and Kendall, were pictured separately shortly after the accident getting into their cars looking anxious.
Bruce's private life has been much-discussed in recent weeks after reports from close friends and family have confirmed that he is transitioning into a woman.
Rumors started swirling around the Olympian's gender identity last year, when it was reported that he underwent surgery to shave down his Adam's apple.
He has also grown out his hair and started shaving his legs.
Numerous celebrity magazines and websites have carried reports citing Jenner family members, who say he is preparing to go public about his transition.
It has been rumored that he plans to make a documentary about the process.
An anonymous source told People magazine in a recent interview: 'He is finally happy and his family is accepting of what he's doing. He's in such a great space. That's why it's the perfect time to do something like this.'
Jenner's 88-year-old mother Esther Jenner, who lives in Idaho, meanwhile told RadarOnline.com that she had "just learned" about her son's gender transition.
'I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker,' she said.
Stepdaughter Kim Kardashian has said Jenner is on a 'journey'.
Born outside New York in October 1949, thrice-married Jenner became an American sports hero when he set a world record with his Montreal decathlon victory.
Leveraging his fame, he appeared on boxes of Wheaties, a popular American cereal known as 'the breakfast of champions,' then tried his hand as a movie actor, with less than stellar results.
He did better on television, appearing in the 1980s police series CHiPs and sitcom Silver Spoons among other shows, and in 2003 the American version of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
