Why The Bachelor Art Green is planning a very thrifty Christmas

Matilda Rice and The Bachelor Art Green will not be spending a cent on each other this Christmas.

The Bachelor, Art Green, and his bubbly blond beauty, Matilda Rice, are preparing to spend their first Christmas together, but it won't involve any expensive gifts.

The couple told Woman's Day the occasion will be merry and bright, but money doesn't come into the equation.

Both Rice and Green's parents have separated - meaning they'll attend four celebrations in one day, but before that they plan to take some time out for two.

Their couple's Christmas will be simple - a meal and gift-giving, of the thrifty kind.

"We will have our own Christmas together. It will be a bit like date night, where we go out for a nice dinner, but we'll have out presents to exchange, which we aren't allowed to spend a cent on - it's all very top secret," Rice revealed to Woman's Day.

The simple gesture was Green's idea and meant they had to think about ways to get creative, instead of simply adding to their material possessions.

Both say their presents are coming along nicely, but admit they hadn't even thought about what to get family members.

"It's so easy to buy something, but because we already have so much stuff, it's nice to receive something that's creative and thought-out, it means much more," Green adds.
