Why MKR's Megan and Kelly didn't 'get nasty'

Hawke's Bay sisters Megan Dobson and Kelly du Toit were the second team eliminated from My Kitchen Rules NZ. We caught up with them for a quick chat ...

Herald: What is it that you think you could have done better to stay on the show?

Megan and Kelly: Perhaps kept it simpler and maybe looked at the flavour combinations. Just because we liked it doesn't mean everyone else does!

What are you most proud of during your time on the show?

We conducted ourselves well. That we remained true to ourselves. We didn't get nasty and that we remained kind throughout.

Any embarrassing moments we should be made aware of?

It didn't make it to the show but there was an awkward goodbye between us and the judges and the end of our Instant Restaurant. Awkward hugging moment ...

What was the best thing you ate while on the show?

The best thing we tasted would have to be Heather and Aarons Boca Loca. We are huge dark chocolate/cacao fans so it was perfect .

And the worst?

Sorry gents but it was humble crumble ... The ginger nailed her delicate pear.

Which judge was the toughest?

They are both pretty equal. But we'll give the bad cop award to Gareth although he did give us a 10 for our crayfish!

What's the best piece of behind-the-scenes gossip you can give us?

That our entire team actually gets along exceedingly well off camera. Despite a few things said when critiquing there is a whole lot of love and friendships that were made.
