John Oliver has admitted that he paid $7000 for Russell Crowe's jockstrap - and he's also revealed why.
Crowe recently auctioned off 200 items of memorabilia from his movie career as part of what he called a "divorce auction" after breaking up with Danielle Spencer.
The Last Week Tonight host told viewers on his lastest show that he bought the jockstrap Crowe used in his role in the film Cinderella Man.
That's not all: he also purchased directors chairs, robes, shorts, a hood from Crowe's role in Robin Hood, and a vest from Les Miserables.
But Oliver also revealed why he did it - to set up a Russell Crowe mini-museum that he's gifting to a struggling Blockbuster video rental stall in Alaska.
