Who? Returned form the dead bastard, whose surprising true parentage was revealed at the end of season six. Played by Kit Harington.
Will he die in season seven? Surely not? All clues so far suggest that Jon could turn out to be a long-prophesied saviour of Westeros, and the rightful ruler of the seven kingdoms.
Plus, he's already died once, and was magically brought back last season. Killing him off again would just feel cheap.
Probability of dying: 1/5
Cersei Lannister
Who? Current ruler of Westeros, whose long-simmering instability might finally now come to a head following the loss of her last surviving child - and her assumption of the power she has always craved. Played by Lena Headey.
Will she die in season seven? While fans of both the show and George RR Martin's book series have long speculated that Jaime, Cersei's brother and lover, might one day kill his sister, we're not at all convinced that this will take place in the next season: it feels like more of a final season resolution for the pair. It's also been reported that Headey has negotiated a lucrative pay package for season eight.
Probability of dying:2/5
Jaime Lannister
Who? Brother/lover of Cersei, who is currently ruling Westeros, and older brother of Tyrion. Played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
Will she die in season seven? As outlined above, we're pretty certain that the show will keep both Jaime and Cersei alive till the final season. Plus, like his co-star Headey, Coster-Waldau has also reportedly signed on for an eighth season.
Probability of dying: 1/5
The Mountain/Gregor Clegane
Who? Formerly a monstrously large knight, Ser Gregor has now been ressurected as Cersei's super-creepy, super-sizes, very probably undead personal bodyguard. Played by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson .
Will he die in season seven? Assuming that he's alive in a technical sense (he's moving about, at any rate) then we think there's a very good chance The Mountain could meet his death this season...assuming, of course, that we get to enjoy a good Cleganebowl first.
The term, for those not in the know, is used by fans to describe a long-anticipated final showdown between The Hound (aka Sandor Clegane) and his bigger, nastier brother.
Naturally enough, most of the fans hoping for a Cleganebowl also hope that, should such an event take place, The Hound will be the victor. A shot of Sandor in the recent trailer, in which he appeared to be standing in the King's Landing Dragonpit and brandishing a sword at an unseen assailant has raised hopes that this longed-for duel could finally happen in season seven...
Probability of dying:3/5
Arya Stark
Who? Tomboyish younger Stark daughter, who trained to become a faceless, nameless assassin, before deciding that her family name - and desire for vengeance on her enemies - were far too important to give up. Played by Maisie Williams.
Will she die in season seven? At a guess, we'd say almost certainly not: Arya is far too interesting a character to be heartlessly sacrificed this season. Then again, we also wouldn't say that she feels like a plot-essential part of the action, who'll necessarily survive until the very end of the show. It's also arguably true that her arc, from plucky young girl, to vengeful killer, to faceless "nobody", to Arya Stark again, could be reaching its logical conclusion, gearing her up for a final act of bravery/sacrifice, perhaps in order to save her surviving family members. That said, we also think she'd need to be reunited with The Hound one last time for a truly emotionally satisfying conclusion.
Probability of dying in season seven (as a score out of five): 2/5
Daenerys
Who? Targaryen Queen, hellbent on claiming her place as rightful heir of Westeros - complete with her three firebreathing dragons
Will she die in season seven? Like Jon Snow, Daenerys is simply too important to the plot of Game of Thrones to be killed off before the final season - and, with her dragons, is sure to play a pivotal role in the final battle against the Night king and his undead armies.
Probability of dying in season seven as a score out of 5: 1/5
Tyrion
Who? Charismatic dwarf and younger Lannister son, who escaped Westeros after being falsely accused of murdering his nephew, and actually murdering his father, and is now adviser to Daenerys Targaryen. Played by Peter Dinklage.
Will she die in season seven? While Tyrion might not seem like a plot-essential character in the same way that Daenerys and Jon are, he's one of the show's most popular, complex creations - and it seems incredibly unlikely that they'll choose to to rid of him. Plus, he's got an awful of unfinished business with brother Jaime, especially if Cersei's army ends up going up against Daenerys in season seven.
Probability of dying in season seven as a score out of 5: 1/5
Littlefinger (Petry Baelish)
Who? Scheming former brother-owner, multiple-murderer and arch manipulator, whose long term plan is to gain the Iron Throne. Played by Aidan Gillen.
Will he die in season seven? Our guess is that Littlefinger could well get his comeuppance by the time season seven comes to a close, most likely at the hands of Sansa Stark. At the end of season six, the arch-schemer confessed his love to Sansa, telling her: "Every time I'm faced with a decision, I close my eyes and see the same picture...A picture of me on the Iron Throne, and you by my side." But we feel he could be underestimating the elder Stark daughter, who has gained a ruthless edge since her marriage to the horrifying Ramsay Bolton.
Probability of dying: 4/5
Theon Greyjoy
Who? Flawed and power-hungry young man turned brutalised, humiliated slave, who has been on a redemption path since the beginning of season six, and has now pledged allegiance to Daenerys Targaryen. Played by Alfie Allen.
Will he die in season seven? While there's no guarantee that anything bad will happen to Theon, we suspect that one or other of the Greyjoy siblings might get killed off in season seven, possibly at the hands of their ruthless uncle Euron, who has been hailed as this season's new (human) villain. We've also seen Theon go through a lot in the last few seasons, and, now that he's redeemed himself and partially made up for his past crimes, it could be time for him to bow out.
Probability of dying: 3/5
Yara Greyjoy
Who? Fearsome ironborn warrior and accomplished ship's captain, who has joined forces with Daenerys Targaryen. Played by Gemma Whelan.
Will she die in season seven? Like we said above, we have an inkling that one of the Greyjoy siblings might be sacrificed this season - and it could be Yara, whose death might furnish Theon with a desire for revenge against his uncle (assuming that Euron isthe one responsible).
Probability of dying: 3/5
Ellaria Sand
Who?Fiery former lover of Oberyn Martell and mother of Sand Snake Tyene, who staged a coup for Dorne after becoming frustrated with the actions of its cautious ruler Doran, and has now joined forces with Daenerys. Played by Indira Varma.
Will she die in season seven? While the trailer suggested that a possible romance between Elaria and Yara could be on the cards, we're not counting on it having a happy ending. Ellaria's alliance with Daenerys will put her in the path of Tyrion Lannister, who won't be too happy about the fact that Ellaria previously murdered his niece Myrcella. Even if he does decide to swallow his feelings, we're not sure the ruthless Ellaria's alliance with Daenerys will survive all that long...
Probability of dying: 4/5
Melisandre
Who? Supernaturally gifted, secretly very very old Red Priestess, who previously pledged allegiance to Stannis Baratheon, believing him to be the long-prophesised saviour of Westeros, but has since switched loyalties to Jon Snow after bringing him back from the dead. Played by Carice van Houten.
Will she die in season seven? Last season, in the scene in which Melisandre revealed her true age, there was a sense that the sorceress was growing tired of her long, long life, and was perhaps ready for death. While her newfound belief in Jon Snow might have given her new hope, the last we saw of her she'd been exiled by him for her murder of Shireen Baratheon. We're also not sure, now that Jon has been brought back, just how much of a role Melisandre has left to play in the series - and consequently wouldn't be too surprised if this season is her last.
Probability of dying: 4/5
