The I Will Always Love You singer's lifeless body was found submerged in the bath tub of her Beverly Hills hotel suite on February 11 - and the Los Angeles County Coroner has now given her official cause of death as accidental drowning caused by heart disease and cocaine use.
Patricia Houston, Whitney's sister-in-law and manager, told RadarOnline.com: "We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure."
The report states the 48-year-old mother-of-one also had marijuana, Xanax, Flexeril and Benadryl in her system although these did not contribute to her demise.
She died just hours before she was due to perform at producer Clive Davis' pre-Grammy bash, and was laid to rest next to her father after at a New Jersey cemetery on February 19. Mourners including ex-husband Bobby Brown, boyfriend Ray J and friends Oprah Winfrey, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige, Jennifer Hudson and Kevin Costner all paid their respects to the tragic star at the four-hour service.
Her 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina was hospitalised twice as she struggled to cope in the days following the tragedy. However, she insists she is "doing as good" as she possibly can, and believes her mother's spirit is still with her.
