Bobbi Kristina was moved to Peachtree Christian Hospice in Georgia last month after being found unresponsive in a bath at her home in Atlanta on January 31.
Her maternal grandmother Cissy Houston previously admitted she had suffered "irreversible brain damage" and wasn't "progressing at all".
Her cousin, Jerod Brown, revealed this weekend that she had been lying in her hospice bed with a framed picture of her "guardian angel" Whitney by her side.
He claimed she was "full of life" and excited about her future just 72 hours before she was rushed to hospital from the home she shared with her boyfriend, Nick Gordon.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, he opened up about Bobbi's state of mind shortly before the incident that left her in a coma. "She wanted to release her first single, to get on with her own music projects for her mum.
"Bobbi's mum was her guardian angel, and she wanted to make her proud. That was her mission."
But he also admitted that Bobbi had been masking her deeper pain.
He claimed: "She was very depressed. She would call me often and say she was dealing with her mum. She would say, 'She's heavy on my heart.'"
He also claimed that he would often help his cousin during times she was feeling suicidal and "talk her down from it".
Whitney Houston died in February 2012 after overdosing on prescription drugs and cocaine. She was found unresponsive in a bath tub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, the day before the Grammy Awards.
