The internet exploded after Ben Affleck was announced as the new Batman, but what did Christopher Nolan think of the casting?
The director behind The Dark Knight trilogy is now serving as executive producer on Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and says he was thrilled to learn Affleck had been cast in the film.
"This is the guy who just won Best Picture as a director and as an actor (for Argo), and I thought it would be a great thing that he'd be willing to do this," Nolan has told The Daily Beast.
"I think the guy is incredibly talented and I'm very excited to see what Zack and Ben do together," he said.
