Meghan Trainor has blamed her dad for her tearful Grammys speech.
The All About That Bass hitmaker was named the winner of the Best New Artist prize at the ceremony at The Staples Center in Los Angeles and couldn't stop herself from crying as she addressed the star-studded audience.
Trainor revealed her father Gary whispered the words, "You made it" into her ear just before she went up to get her statuette.
In a post on her Instagram account with a photo of her and her dad blubbing, she said: "This is me forever ... balling my eyes out. Can't believe what happened. My dad whispered 'you made it' before I walked up and lost it. I love my family so much. Without them I wouldn't be here today. Thank you to my team and everyone who got me here. Gonna cry happy tears all night. AHHHHH Just the best day of my life (sic)"
