The first trailer has finally landed for David Farrier's new Netflix series, Dark Tourist.
The Kiwi behind the hit documentary Tickled, has made a travel show in which he visits weird and flat-out macabre locations around the world, from a nuclear lake to haunted locations to war zones.
It's anexploration of a travel trend in which people specifically seek out sites of "death and destruction" for their vacations.
The new trailer shows Farrier witnessing a murder, taking a drug cartel inspired tour and partaking in some type of voodoo ceremony, as well as swapping stories about seeing dead bodies.
He says: "I've been forced out of my comfort zone and somehow its made me feel even more happy to be alive - maybe that's the whole point of Dark Tourism".
According to Netflix, the series sees Farrier chat to everyone - "from Charles Manson's best friend, to Pablo Escobar's most trusted assassin, to the woman about to marry notorious UK criminal Charles Bronson".
In the series, Farrier travels to Latin America, the United States, Europe, Japan, Africa, Southeast Asia and the ex-soviet Stans over the course of eight episodes.
Dark Tourist hits Netflix in New Zealand on July 20.
