The much-anticipated first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been released, offering the first glimpse of Alden Ehrenreich in the role of young Han Solo.
The spin-off film is an origin story of the iconic hero portrayed by Harrison Ford in the original Star Wars films. As well as Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures) in the titular role, the film stars Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
The trailer introduces Solo as a street-smart fugitive who says he's been "running scams on the street since I was 10", who aims to be the best pilot in the galaxy.
Harrelson's character recruits him to join a crew he is putting together, which leads Solo to his future co-pilot Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian, a character from the original franchise portrayed in this film by Glover.
Reactions to the trailer on social media were mixed, with many praising Glover's brief appearances as Lando Calrissian.
