No news is good news for Big Day Out punters this Friday - the MetService is predicting "not a lot" for the day-long music festival.
MetService ambassador Bob McDavitt said it would be a sunny day, with temperatures sitting around the 24 degrees mark and light south-westerly winds, much like Auckland's weather today.
He said revellers would still have to be conscious of UV levels and remain hydrated throughout the day, but it was unlikely temperatures would reach the scorching levels of previous years.
"It's not going to be the hottest day of the year or anything like that."
With an estimated 45,000 people attending the sell-out event, Mr McDavitt said temperatures inside the stadium would be warmer than the outside air temperature.
Compared to temperatures across the country, Auckland's climate was relatively mild said McDavitt. Gisborne is expected to hit 30 degrees later today.
He also added that temperatures would not drop dramatically as night falls on Friday, eliminating the need to carry bulky jumpers and jackets.
"It will be mild at night. Around 20 or 19 degrees, which is good," said Mr McDavitt.
Compared to the searing temperatures Australian fans will endure at the Big Day, Auckland punters will get off lightly. Melbourne and Sydney are currently experiencing temperatures up to 38 degrees.
