Former Disney starlet
Vanessa Hudgens
is a girl on a mission.
Not only is the
Sucker Punch
star putting pedal to the metal and bolting it from the big Mouse House, she's also giving a skeleton from her past the one finger salute.
Yes, we're talking about those private, self-taken, blush-worthy nudie snaps of Hudgens that surfaced online in 2007. The second set that emerged in 2009, and yet another lot (believed to be from the 2007 batch) that hogged the headlines last month.
Hudgens, 22, was reportedly "furious" that the saucy snaps had re-emerged in March.
"Vanessa is deeply upset and angered that these old photos, which were taken years ago, continue to resurface," her legal muscle,
Christopher Wong
, told TMZ at the time.
"It is particularly disturbing that whoever got a hold of these private photos seem to be intent on illegally leaking them out over a long period of time."
He added: "We are actively working with law enforcement to determine who is responsible and to hold them accountable for their actions."
The girl has been haunted by the scandal, and she's in the mood for an exorcism. Time to burn the sage.
Hudgens, who stars in
Zack Snyder
's girl power fiesta,
Sucker Punch
,
with the
Los Angeles Times
about the photo scandals, her career and trotting about in skimpy outfits on the silver screen.
"It's just silly because I'm a very present person, and that's so in the past," Hudgens said.
"The fact that somebody keeps bringing up the past is just selfish. I mean, it sucks. I already released a statement the first time it happened. It's just unfortunate that it keeps reminding people about the past and not the present."
This isn't the first time Hudgens has directly addressed the nudie snaps leak.
"I want to apologise to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me," she said in a statement in 2007. "I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."
She mused in a later interview: "My parents are very supportive of me. And they know I'm a teenager, and yes, kids do stupid things sometimes," she said.
"It's very unfortunate because with the Internet these days, you don't have a personal life. Nothing is private: Everyone knows everything, and they can find out everything about you. You're not as safe as you think you are, and you have to be aware of the people you're around."
Despite the controversy, Hudgens says she has no problem flaunting her figure in a professional capacity.
"I was in the best shape of my life, so why not?" she told the
Times
of donning risqué clobber in
Sucker Punch
.
"The woman's body is a beautiful thing. There's no reason why we shouldn't, like, be our best in our costumes."
The starlet - who split with
Zac Efron
in December - also touches on their former romance.
"It was interesting," she said of conducting a relationship in the public eye. "But we got to a point where it was just like, we just can't pay attention, because one week we'd be married and then the next week we'd be broken up and the next week I would have a baby. It was just the most obscene things."
Hudgens also says she has no interest in rubbernecking the past. She's moving forward from the scandal.
"You really have to stay strong, because times get tough. Especially in this business. It's a dog-eat-dog world," she said.
"A lot of women get walked all over on by not standing up for themselves, and that's just not what I'm about. I'm figuring myself out now as a young adult more than I ever have. It's like my eyes are opening and I'm awakening to controlling my future."
You live, you learn...and you turn on the beast that helped smear your scandal.
Asked by
People
magazine last week what she though is the best invention ever, Hudgens barked: "I know what the worst invention ever is," she said, "the internet. I think it's ruining everyone, and it just makes everybody way too accessible - it just takes away the glamour and mystery from our business."
Thrice bitten, forever shy? Let's hope so. If there's a lens about, pout, - don't drop your laundry.

No David, no. Stick your foot down on this one.
But he won't have to, because the report is total tosh.
"This is simply tabloid nonsense," Beckham's representative
