A vampire love story by independent US film-maker Jim Jarmusch has been awarded a coveted place in the official line-up at next month's Cannes film festival.
Only Lovers Left Alive with Tom Hiddleston, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt and Mia Wasikowska takes to 20 the number of films in competition for the top Palme d'Or prize at the Riviera movie extravaganza.
The other 19 films in the May 15-26 competition were unveiled last week.
They include the soon-to-retire Steven Soderbergh's eagerly-awaited film Behind the Candelabra, with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, which recounts the life of flamboyant pianist-entertainer Liberace.
Others big names include Roman Polanski and the Coen Brothers.
