Herald: What is it that you think you could have done better to stay on the show?
Dan and Sam: Cooked our lamb for longer. Practiced more.
What are you most proud of during your time on the show?
Dan: Not crying.
Sam: Nearly not crying, I don't know how the edit plays out.
Dan: Triple-cooked chips and not losing it under the pressure.
Sam: My desserts. I still think my dessert from our instant restaurant is great!
Any embarrassing moments we should be made aware of?
When our fish came out of the oven in our sudden death with Dan and Christie we thought we had an extra piece so we cut some off of one to test it but we actually needed it! Luckily we used it for the hero shot that's photographed so we didn't have to serve it to any judges.
What was the best thing you ate while on the show?
Neena and Belinda's hapuku entree. There was no bar set at the time so we didn't appreciate it as much as we should have. Also Dan and Christie's Chipotle mayo, we make it all the time now.
And the worst?
Neil and Tracey's fish, sorry it was just too undercooked. We still love you and your pork belly though.
Dan and Sam's sudden death lamb dish.
Which judge was the toughest?
Well we all know who that is ...
What's the best piece of behind-the-scenes gossip you can give us?
Sean Connolly may be a great chef but he has to restart his lines many times before he gets it right!
* My Kitchen Rules airs three times a week from 7.30pm on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, TV One.
