Twins for Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller

Television star Charlie Sheen and his third wife, Brooke Mueller, have become parents to twin boys.

Mueller gave birth to Max and Bob on Saturday night (yesterday NZST), a few weeks prematurely, Sheen's publicist Stan Rosenthal told people.com.

"They're doing great," Rosenthal said, adding that Sheen was "ecstatic" about the births.

"He's a family man – now he has three daughters and two sons. He's a wonderful father."

Two and a Half Men star Sheen, 43, has a 24-year-old daughter, Cassandra, from a former relationship and two younger daughters, Sam (4) and Lola (3), from his marriage to actress Denise Richards.

He married Mueller, an real estate investor, in May 2008.
