TVNZ have picked up the first season of Golden Globe-winning comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, finalising a deal with NBC Universal to bring the show to TV2 as part of its new season lineup.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine stars Andy Samberg as Jake Peralta, a cocky and immature detective in a far-flung police precinct who is forced to reel in his childish ways after the station is placed under the leadership of a hard-nosed police captain, played by Andre Braugher.
The show recently took home the Golden Globe award for Best Television Series - Musical Or Comedy, while Samberg also won an individual award for Best Actor - Television Series Musical or Comedy.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine was created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur, who are well-known as producers, and Schur as creator, on critically acclaime comedy Parks & Recreation.
The show has been a hit for Fox in the US, who are airing a new episode after Super Bowl XLVII alongside New Girl.
