KEY POINTS:
Pros: You may not have delved into the world of Autobots and Decepticons since childhood, but the inanimate characters of Transformers are looking pretty fresh here. The graphics are good and for the first time this year, a massive franchise complete with characters and storyline, is actually done justice. The controls convincingly replicate the feel of manoeuvering a large, unwieldy robot.
Cons: Unfortunately the graphics aren't matched by decent sound effects and music.
Verdict: Morphing robots are back in vogue thanks to the Michael Bay movie blockbuster, which was better than I expected. The same goes for the game, a colourful, action-packed shoot-em-up with surprisingly high entertainment value.
