If you loved the gripping TV series You, then Kaley Cuoco's latest show will be your next obsession.
In her first breakout role since Big Bang Theory ended last year, the 34-year-old actress stars and executive produces HBO Max's upcoming show The Flight Attendant, which is co-produced by You co-creator Greg Berlanti.
The murder mystery thriller is a far cry from Cuoco's girl-next-door roots as Penny Hofstadter on the beloved comedy sitcom, which first started airing back in 2007 and made its main stars (very rich) household names.
The Flight Attendant follows Cuoco's character Cassandra Bowden who has a one-night stand with a man she meets on a flight and wakes up next to his dead body with no idea what happened.
As she carries on life as normal, Cassandra begins to question whether she is the killer.
The dark comedic thriller is based on the novel of the same name by New York Times best-selling author Chris Bohjalian.
Michiel Huisman, Rosie Perez, Zosia Mamet, Michelle Gomez, T.R. Knight, Colin Woodell, Merle Dandridge, Griffin Matthews, and Nolan Gerard Funk also make up the cast.
Speaking about choosing what role she would take on after 12 seasons on Big Bang Theory, Cuoco said she anticipated negative reaction no matter what she did.
"If I had chosen a sitcom, (people would) be like, 'Oh, my God, enough.' And if I chose a drama, I never would have won anybody over," she told TV Insider last month.
"I got such a chill (reading The Flight Attendant) and thought, 'This could be really incredible if we get the right team together."
There's no date yet for when the show will screen in New Zealand, but it streams in the US from November 27 via HBO Max.
