Gangsta rap fans should mark the date of September 25 in their diaries using a very large permanent marker.
That's the date rapper YG, from Compton, California, will hit our shores for a one-off show at Auckland's Studio.
YG - it stands for Young Gangsta - is this year's breakout rap star thanks to his star-studded debut studio album My Krazy Life, which landed this year to rave reviews and earned comparisons to Kendrick Lamar and Dr Dre.
Here's what TimeOut had to say about his debut album: "It's damn near a gangsta rap classic ... a masterclass in hip-hop that will be on many a best-of this year."
YG is a mixtape master with serious credentials: AA$P Rocky, Drake, Jeezy and Lamar have all praised him for updating Compton's signature sound, and for crafting a "timeless story" across his "classic" debut.
