Kate Tempest is a woman of many talents, with a background as a poet, playwright and a novelist.
But when the South London 29-year-old performs here for the first time in January she'll be showcasing her skills as a rapper.
Tempest will perform with her four-piece band at Wellington's Bodega on January 14 and Auckland's Kings Arms on January 15 on the back of her acclaimed 2014 debut, Everybody Down.
That album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and attracted Tempest plenty of fans, including Wu Tang Clan's GZA, Public Enemy's Chuck D, and UK rapper Roots Manuva.
