Future Sound System says on top of already announced acts Aviici, Afrojack, and Martin Garrix, Finland's Darude will also be performing at the festival at Mt Smart Stadium on Friday February 27.
Darude became an international sensation when he released the single Sandstorm back in 1999, its throbbing, melodic, adrenalin-fuelled buzz making it one of the most recognisable tunes in the world, and selling more than 2.5 million copies, as well as being featured on over 300 compilations.
Over the past 15 years he's continued to DJ around the world, and his techno trance tracks have remained hugely popular despite many other dancefloor trends having surfaced. Last year both The Edge and George FM actually ran campaigns to try to get Darude to New Zealand, and now their wish has come true.
Tickets for the event are still available through Ticketmaster.
Also announced this week, British electro-pioneer DJ Bonobo will be coming to Auckland this March as part of an Australasian tour. The boundary-pushing producer whose range of synthesizers and instruments continue to take his productions to new levels, released his fifth album The North Borders in 2013, and has since played more than 175 shows across three continents and 30 countries.
His extended live versions have hypnotised audiences at Coachella, Sonar, Glastonbury, and the Sydney Opera House, and on Friday March 13, Auckland audiences will get a chance to experience him too. He'll be performing at The Studio on Karangahape Rd, and tickets will go on sale from January 26 through Dash Tickets.
