A breakdance crew who spin to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach are bringing their show to Auckland in September.
Germany's world champion troupe, Flying Steps, will be playing three nights at the Aotea Centre in September with their show Red Bull Flying Bach, which promoters say "turns the worlds of classical music and breakdancing upside down".
Flying Steps artistic director Christoph Hagel says the show proves that breakdancing and the music of Bach are a perfect fit.
"The sharpness and freshness of Bach's preludes and fugues work faultlessly with the dance style of the Flying Steps.
"When this type of breakdance comes together with the sound of piano and harpsichord, the incredible masterpieces of Bach are brought to life and made relevant for a modern audience."
