After eight long years, The XX are finally returning to New Zealand for one show in January next year.
Since they last played here in 2010, The XX have become megastars and a staple in the music scene with their atmospheric pop and electronic sound.
Their debut release xx, becamea worldwide hit and even won the Mercury Music Prize in for best album of the year in 2010.
Since then, they've continued to put out music which pushes the boundaries, selling millions of albums and selling out major world tours and festivals.
And now the London trio - Romy Madley Croft (guitar, vocals), Oliver Sim (bass, vocals) and Jamie Smith (aka Jaime XX) (beats, MPC, production) - are currently enjoying their biggest critical and commercial success ever with their latest album I See You.
Coming full circle, I See You was nominated for the 2017 Mercury Prize just a week before today's announcement that they're returning to our shores.
The XX will play Auckland's Trusts Arena on January 11.
