Dance floors across New Zealand are going to shake this September, because local dance music giants Shapeshifter and The Upbeats have announced a collaborative national tour to celebrate the release of a collaborative EP, entitled SSXUB.
Shapeshifter and The Upbeats have forged a partnership stretching back years, and now they're preparing to take their mutual admiration to another level with this recording and tour, and no doubt bassheads across the country will be salivating.
The show will feature a DJ set from Shapeshifter, boosted by live elements from PDigsss on vocals, while The Upbeats will bring their customary full noise live experience, with tracks from their acclaimed Rituals EP sure to be among the highlights.
And to add another layer to the buzz, MC Tiki will also be joining both acts on all five dates.
They start at CPIT in Christchurch on Friday September 26, head to Sammy's in Dunedin on September 27, Loco in Queenstown on September 28, the Powerstation in Auckland on October 3, and the James Cabaret in Wellington on October 4.
