Fans of Americana-country-folk music rejoice: for two weeks during October, The Tuning Fork will be hosting a veritable feast of international and local acts whose sound is steeped in aged whiskey, dusty leather, and melancholy.
Internationally acclaimed Oscar and Grammy winning songwriter Ryan Bingham, who found his way to fame writing the beautiful songs in country movie Crazy Heart (which starred Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Colin Farrell) will be taking the stage on Saturday October 11, and wooing audiences with tracks from his acclaimed albums like Junky Star and Tomorrowland.
Justin Townes Earle, who has a soft spot for New Zealand and releases his fifth studio album, Single Mothers, on September 9, will be finishing the festival with a performance on October 25. His touring buddy, Lindi Ortega, will be playing her own show on October 24.
Audiences will also have a chance to see Nashville bluegrass expert Robert Ellis, alongside country jester Jonny Fritz on October 16, while The Delines (a brand new band from Willy Vlautin of Richmond Fontaine) will be showcasing their debut album, Colfax Avenue, on October 17.
Local luminaries rounding out the billing at Vector Arena include the enchanting Aldous Harding, Eb & Sparrow, and Bernie Griffin. More details and ticketing information can be found here.
