Tour news: More dragon wrangling, KRS-One, Wavves

Due to popular demand How to Train Your Dragon, the follow up to record-breaking show Walking with Dinosaurs, has announced two further dates in April.

The arena spectacular show, which will be taking over Vector Arena from April 18 to 22 for 10 performances, has managed to squeeze in two extra shows on Thursday, April 19 at 3pm and Sunday, April 22 at 3pm.

Using the same extraordinary technology that brought life-sized dinosaurs before big crowds at Vector Arena last year, the show, created by Melbourne workshop the Creature Technology Company in collaboration with Dreamworks, promises to bring 24 huge fire-breathing dragons to life to recreate the story of the 3D animated film, How to Train Your Dragon.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, with the new shows on sale this Saturday at 8am.

KRS-One brings his sound to town

KRS-One, the 46-year-old elder statesman of rap and hip-hop, has announced two shows in New Zealand during April.

The rapper, who's name stands for Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone, just so happened to stop off in Auckland last weekend on a cruise ship visit (apparently he doesn't like flying) while on his way to play shows in Australia. The Bronx-raised rapper (real name Lawrence Kris Parker), famed for tracks like Sound of da Police, plays the Wellington Town Hall on April 20, and an Auckland venue to be confirmed on April 21.

Meanwhile, San Diego noisy surf pop trio Wavves head to Auckland for their first New Zealand show in May. They'll be playing the Kings Arms on May 3, performing material from their 2011 EP Life Sux, along with songs from their three full-length albums. Tickets on sale today from Under The Radar and Real Groovy.
