Just as Auckland kicks off its very own Americana festival one of the queens of the genre is coming back to town.
Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams is heading to Vector Arena on December 4.
The vast venue will be in compact theatre mode for the visit by Williams and band who are still touring in the wake of their 2014 double set Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone - voted album of the year at the 14th annual Americana Awards last month.
Williams last played in Auckland at a Town Hall show in 2012.
