Heading to Gisborne to join in the festival celebrations at Rhythm & Vines? Then you'll be seeing in the New Year with Kim Dotcom.
The 39-year-old internet tycoon and founder of storage sites Mega and Megaupload.com is promising the "biggest midnight show" the festival has ever seen when the clock strikes 12 on December 31.
Dotcom will perform tracks from his new album Good Times while the fireworks go off - "a spectacle of fireballs, electroluminescent dancers, lightning bolts and special effects before a breathtaking pyrotechnics display".
The performance will also include The Lightning Rider, "a character who creates bolts of lightning from his body" and the El Wire performers who will "set the stage alight in their strobe suits dancing in time to Kim's music".
Dotcom released his first album Party Amplifier in 2012.
